Green Smoothie

Ingredients:

Detoxifying, refreshing, and satiating, this smoothie is a great start to the day, or snack at any time. Including the fruit/veggie skin in the smoothie means more nutrients and fiber.

  •  2 ribs celery

  • 3-4 sprigs cilantro

  • 3-4 sprigs parsley

  • juice of 1/2 lemon

  • 1 apple or pear, core removed

  • 2 cups greens - dandelion, beet, spinach, kale

  • 1.5 cups liquid (try water, pineapple juice, orange juice, nut milk)

  • Optional ideas (if adding, you will need to add more liquid to achieve preferred consistency)

    • 1 small beet, quartered

    • 1 medium carrot

    • 1/2 banana

    • hemp seeds

    • flax oil

    • 1/2 inch knob turmeric or ginger

    • your favorite protein powder

    • up to 1 tbsp maple syrup or honey to taste

Blend for at least 1 minute or until smooth. Store leftovers in a glass containers/jar.

Tip: double smoothie recipe and have enough for 2 days or to share with a loved one!
